Of course, we're talking about food! More specifically, we're talking about last weekend's appetizer from Chef Mno's Specialty Menu. And to make it even more specific, it's Chef Ead's creation of combining our Angel Shrimp Rolls with fried wonton wrappers, with a few extra ingredients.
This appetizer is quite popular among Thai menus, calling it Toong Tong. Toong is translated to a bag and Tong is translated to gold. So as literal as it looks, it's A Bag of Gold. But just to add a little fun to our menu, we have decided to call it The Bank Robber. And to answer a few guests' question of what we used to tie this bag of gold, it's green onions.
Even though The Bank Robber is not offered anymore, we are sure to offer it again some time. And today being March 28, Happy Birthday to Eddie!
